Sad. Considering these people are supposed to be professionals, you would think someone would've caught that beforehand. Even with an illegal amount of weight, she finished next-to-last.

Love how the author just sticks this in to add insult to injury. Hilarious.

Weight measurements, unless changed after the death of the Georgian athlete, would have been absolutely clear from quite some time ago. And even if they WERE changed after the young man died the Japan team should have known. This is 100% their wrong. Feel sorry for the girl, nonetheless.

These are desperate times for team Japan aren't they ! Jim Rome, syndicated sports talk show host here in the US, likes to say; "if you aint cheatin'- you ain't tryin' !" Well, I'd add, if yer gonna cheat- you better do better than near dead last ! And strap that helmet on for cryin' out loud ! Lmao !

Given that track's history it's probably safer for her that she didn't race more.

Women's weight rules go on a weird equation if they are under a certain weight. She is. Given that, they should weigh them before and after or simplify the rules.
