¥2 billion equals 20 oku en? That's 20M$. Not bad change for a resurrected career back home.

This is way too much money for a catcher a few years removed from being a good player. I'm not saying they've wasted money like they did on Irabu, but $20 million+ is going overboard.
NPB teams need to look harder at the player returning to the league after years in MLB and objectively project what he is still capable of, rather than obsessing so much about what he did long ago, like the BayStars did with Sasaki, for example.
Anyway, good luck Hanshin Tigers next year, and I hope Jojima helps you knock off the Giants in the CL.

Jo still has a lot, and if he is allowed to play more games, you'll see his stats grow. Hanshin fans will probably be pleasantly surprised.

Hanshin will accumulate bad debt and may seek govt bailout after four years.

That may be true too....

Good, if he returns to his original self when he comes back to the Tigers, Tigers will be on fire. Yano was great when he wasn't injured last season but he is also no spring chicken. He is like 41. Tigers next need to go after a power hitter to compliment Kanemoto and Brazell.
