Hello Sumo fans. Wow! The Bulgarian human adult male - Mr Mahlyanov Kaloyan Stefanov - has certainly put the cat among the pigeons. He's definitely changed his approach - no more of that long arm over the back, as huberts mentioned and he seems to have widened his stance considerably. He also appears a little heavier to me this basho. The long arm certainly weakened his balance - how many times did we see him do the most acrobatic somersault? particularly against Toyonoshima. I sincerely hope he can get the 2 wins he needs - unless Hakuho slips up - to win his first basho. Go Bulgarian human adult male!!

One further point - it could all end today as Kotomitsuki (who's against Hakuho) doesn't have his Kachikoshi yet, whereas Aminishiki is safe at 8-4.

The Bulgar boy is doing great. He looked good since beating the Mongolian Menace and if he defeats the Aomori Angel today then it looks very good indeed for the Veliko Tarnovo Volcano. I'm still surprised at how he dealt with the Ulan Bator Unit yesterday....

if you are not from American, British culture then you misunderstand and you should apologize.

Here are some examples of how kid and boy are often used in relation to sports and historical icons:

billy"the kid" butch cassidy and the sundance kid davey boy smith, the british bulldog Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto and Bulgarian boy, kotooshu just google them and stop being mean spirited to sarge for nothing.

looks like the Bulgarian BOY just bit the dust. lets hope he "MANS" up for the next fight and proves not to be just a KIDer. I hate to be CHILDish but the JUVENILES in the sumo rank need to me than INFANTS in the circle to become true MEN.

romulus3 - The Bulgarian Man ( OK, pathat? ) is not the only one who bit the dust today ha ha ha BOTH yokozuna lost! I can't believe Hakuho lost to Aminishiki and I can't believe Asa lost to Kaio! Kaio literally threw Asa out of the doyho! This is the best basho I think I've ever seen!

with the favorites losing matches they should be winning, there must some good action somewhere out there.

Asashoryu and Hakuho are weaker than Kotooshyu. They have never been wrestling champions. Kotooshyu is world wrestling champion and soon he will have the title yokozuna in sumo. Amazing career.
