The Bulgarian kid is going to suffer his second loss today at the hands of Ama. I'm wondering if Asashoryu can beat Kotomitsuki...
romulus3 at 08:52 AM JST - 24th May
well it seems that the "pathat" kid has thrown his hat in the ring for this one. well lets indeed see if the sweeney toddler Kotooshu can, with the aid of his boyish good looks, shrug of the delinquencies of yesterday and become known as the Bulgarian Stag, or the "Durzhavna Sigurnost" of sumo.

sarge: Are you sure about Kotooshu losing today? You have been wrong about nearly everything else this basho.
ihope2eatwhales at 12:41 PM JST - 24th May
I believe Kotooshu will win today. Ama is full of fighting spirit, but after yesterday Kotooshu will have his mind on the job.

Hooray ! pathat is back on the sumo discussion.
How are you doing my son ?

Lucky break for Kotooshu.
Kotooshu will win the Emperor's Cup. He will beat Ama today and tomorrow will be the happiest moment for Japanese and EUropean fans alike.
Mathematically, it's only Hakuho who has the chance but he will go toe-to-toe with Asa. Should he fail then its an outright championship for Kotooshu.
Kotooshu better consult Takami for some adrenaline pump and Wakanoho for anger management. Sometimes it pays when you have the angst in order to win. Being calm is good only for Tennis player, dart player and other non-contact sports...
Kotooshu don't fail us this time...

Co'mon sashimi, hesperianC730 and sarge et al - let's see who can pick the winners of the last five bouts - according to my time of writing you've got 1.5 hours - prize for the winner!
TeruSensei at 05:11 PM JST - 24th May
What are the odds of Asa really trying hard against Hakuho to make sure he doesn't win?
Or what are the odds of him dropping the match so Hakuho CAN win?

Congratulations to the Bulgarian boy Kotooshu on his first yusho! His father looks very happy too!

I beat you to it, North! Hey, Asashoryu finally won one, at Kotomitsuki's expense!
northlondon at 06:51 PM JST - 24th May
Sarge beat me by 1 minute ! That's it, I'm on pathat's side from now on. Whaddya mean the Bulgarian Boy ? Are you demeaning all Bulgarians as lesser human beings blah, blah, blah.......
HesperianC730 at 09:59 PM JST - 24th May

Congratulations to the wonderful Kotooshyu for winning the Tokyo basho. Hope many more victories will follow and I am sure you will become the first European yokozuna. Ganbatte!
