The closest this article comes to saying what sport it is about is when they give scores, if you don't recognize the names of players or events.

It's not the first time I've seen this problem on JT. Even something as simple as change it to "Olympic Badminton champion..." would make this so much clearer for someone who doesn't follow the sport but might be reading the article.

The name of the sport is listed above the headline.

It's AP's fault. Searching for the first sentence in the article gives several hits on google, all with the same title, so apparently title was supplied by AP as well as the article. JT could supplement the title, I guess.

Anyway, who DOESN'T know who Lin Dan and Chen Long are?
