Lions rally past Fighters

Toru Hosokawa delivered a grand slam and Takahiko G.G. Sato hit a tiebreaking two-run homer as the Seibu Lions overcame a six-run deficit to beat the Nippon Ham Fighters 8-6 on Monday. Hosokawa’s fifth-inning slam and a Hiroyuki Nakajima solo homer in the sixth, both off Brian Sweeney, reduced Seibu’s deficit to 6-5 in Pacific League action at Seibu Dome.

In other PL action, Orix beat Lotte 6-3 and Softbank defeated Rakuten 7-5 over 11 innings. In the Central League, Hanshin outgunned Chunichi 10-4, Yokohama edged Hiroshima 6-5 and Yomiuri downed Yakult 6-4.
