See Bobby V is out and about again trying to win friends and influence people.

Bobby V tells it like it is. Yomiuri's influence ruins Japanese baseball. The whole league system needs expanding, as does the draft.

I am no fan of bobby v as he destroyed the tigers a few years ago in The JS but he is 100% correct about the Giants. They have the money so they buy the championships. Their team salary is double the rest of the league average easily.

Yeah - GO BV. The monolithic industry that is The Yomiuri Giants deserves all the criticism it attracts. As mentioned - Money buys All. Their so called illustrious history serves only themselves - few others have really benefited.

And they are so scared of changes to a system that would level the playing field or decrease their chances of victory that they continue to dominate in the manner that they always have. No united league, No real draft reform. No Salary caps, ......!

A Giant step backwards for Japanese Baseball.

Bobby's absolutely right (and a helluva coach, IMHO).

The Yomiuri Giants are the NY Yankees of Japan (they suffer from the same love/hate image in the US too - If you're a New Yorker, you love 'em. Anyone else? You hate them with a passion), burning through money to win, but not really doing much else to ensure that baseball grows as a sport overall in Japan. Fans aren't really impressed with wins that are essentially bought, and even less impressed when profits from fans are just funneled into making the team even more lopsidedly strong. Where's the fun in that?
