"This was all very odd. A sketched picture ? Why not just say that you want the press to respect her privacy and that she didn’t want her photo published ?"
Either he's been playin' too much Paper Mario, or she's barkin' uggers.

Secrecy is a good thing. When this girl's name gets out, her, her parents, her friends, her old school teachers, etc. are going to be hassled 24 hours a day by Japan's gutter press. The poor guy probably wants a bit of peace and quite before things go ballistic.

Maybe a sketch because you can draw around the dekichatta parts.

Even creepier was the initial sketch -- just a chalk outline of a tuna.

I'm waiting for a chance to scribble a stick figure on a napkin next time someone asks me what my girlfriend is like - guaranteed gag of the month.

Anyone going to mention the rumours that Hideki is gay... Not that there is anything wrong with that mind (copyright Seinfeld).

Word is Matsui is a friendly, kind, genuine guy, the kind of guy you would have a beer with and shoot the breeze, he comes from a good family. On the other hand, Ichiro the more popular and more handsome of the two is by accounts a rather unusual guy - quite eccentric, a womanizer and rather selfish. His father is a greedy, arrogant you know what. Just goes to show you cant judge abook by its cover. I for one wish Matsui all the best in his marriage.

In that case I would much rather have a night out on the town with Ichiro.

Who cares? I don't...

I don't think one should use the comparison of a tuna to describe the girl. that is not fair..(the moderator wants us to be impolite to others). We should be more caring and love everyone despite if they are ugly or beautiful..Matsui is one of both in the eye of the beholder..is that okay moderator

Sketchy 'wife' this is how women are treated in Japan?
flammenwerfer at 09:12 PM JST - 28th March
DK, in that case you would be buying all your own drinks.....;-) all night.

I wonder if this puts an end to his "epic collection" detailed in Robert Whiting's book "Meaning of Ichiro." Readers of the book will know what I mean. Apparently the following Japanese media would keep up "supplies" to keep on his good side. I don't think wifey will approve somehow.

For the monthly shopping allowance she will be getting, she probably wont really care about his "stack"
pathat at 07:55 PM JST - 31st March
eresay-Could he have "met" her in one of the many volumes in his collection? It
s definitely possible. Anyway, it goes without saying that his on-field performance is more important to the Yankees, and, if he doesnt stay healthy and perform better, the fans will come down on him hard.Register or login to add a comment!
