Manchester United faces multi-million pound bill for fake bomb 'fiasco'

Christopher Reid, owner of Security Search Management, told the Daily Mail his company was “getting the blame” for the fake bomb but refused to make any comment until after he had spoken with Manchester United.

Getting the blame? I should hope so. This company that conducted the security drill involving the training aid that was discovered prior to the match is 100% responsible for everything that happened on Sunday. The financial impact, the heartbreak, everything. No one else should be blamed for the precautionary actions taken in response to the irresponsibility, carelessness, and lack of professionalism that resulted in the fake IED being left behind. Because they look/smell so real, explosives training aids and narcotics training aids are controlled inventory items 100% accountability for them is absolutely necessary and mandatory. It's indefensible that Reid's employees secured from the training drill they were running and left the premises obviously without having taken an accurate inventory of the props they used/placed. Secuirty Search Management should be sued and held accountable.

Yep. Terrible for the 'fans' who travelled hundred of miles to watch 'their' team from places like Bristol and other hotbeds of Utd support.

That is sad. This season most people have sat through about 80 minutes of disappointment in the Stretford End before deciding to leave.

Scary stuff, as some of you will know the 7/7 bombing happened exactly at the locations and times as a training exercise was happening.
