    Wow, Japan must be devastated.

  • OzKen at 11:57 AM JST - 22nd December

West ham play wthe worlds most atrcative football, but no-one ever lets us win, it's a bleeding con!!

I agree about plastic fans, it's all about marketing these days. I disagree about West Ham. They are a smaller club than Tottenham who play dull football. Unfortunately they look like they'll be in the Championship next season battling the likes of Plymouth and Preston.

OzKen- We aint going down, mark my words. WE have quality, style and the bestest fans.

Most Manchester United fans are a discgrace to the name of football. This world club cup was a farce anyway, with semi pro teams in it. Strewth, who can take that seriously? It's all about money.

I epect the ref will be buying a Merc or BMW in the net few weeks, despite the recession, know what i mean!!!

We aint going down, mark my words. WE have quality, style and the bestest fans.

Quality meaning everybody else's rejects. (with the exception to Green and Upson - Arsenal reject). As for the best fans, if you mean holding up effigies of Becks after '98, and booing every ex-West Ham player who returns to Upton Park, then yes, you do!! As for manyoo winning this 'Mickey Mouse Cup', I say good on 'em, though I think it will hurt them when it comes to the EPL, especially with the busy festive period of games coming around.

AlfGarnett - No, not sure what you mean with the Merc/BMW comment. Care to substantiate with more than words that look decidedly like grapes of the sour variety. So if Chelsea have lots of money and are bribing everyone and their mother to win, how come they didn't win the league last season? And how come you can't provide any proof or evidence at all for this. But then again I'm sure your colleague at the pub has extensive knowledge of all the innards of every football club in England.

As for West Ham going down, it doesn't matter one jot if you have the quality, style and the bestest [sic] fans; what matters is if you have enough points to beat the drop. At the moment I wouldn't be so sure. Leeds United were making exactly the same noises as you are now a few years ago. "We're too good to go down, best fans etc". What they needed to do was understand the situation they were in and work to get themselves out of it.

WayneRooney10 - Think that's justt he otherside of the AlfGarnett coin.

And it is a con... damn those other teams that don't let West Ham win by scoring more goals than them! Granted you can call yourselves the world champions, but who did you really have to beat to win the tournament? I know you can only beat who is put in front of you, but even so. It's like saying an English team winning the Intertoto Cup makes up for all the times England have completely underperformed at the European Championships.

whitepocky - good last point. Think you've got to give them slight credit that they sent pretty much a full team over to compete. They could have easily rested their stars and not respected the competition, but they didn't.

Moderator: Readers, please stay on topic. West Ham is not relevant to this discussion. The subject is the Club World Cup.

Alf, it's all about welfare. It's the bleedin' welfare what pays for ManYoo and Liverpool. Them's the teams what's been here of late, and there's no economy up there supporting the clubs. Hard working Londoners like you is paying the welfare up North what ManYoo and Liverpool gets. It's paffetic Alf innit.

Two points here. If you are a big Man You fan and living in Japan, then I would imagine the Toyota Club Cup Final in Yokohama would have been pencilled in your diaries as soon as you won the European FA Cup last season. Unless you are disabled in some way then of course I would totally retract that. Non-attendance last night would mean that you are not really a Man You 'supporter'.

Secondly, while this new site is open to everyone, it is supposed to be a news site for English speaking people living in Japan. The news is about life in Japan and the only reason Man You got a mention is because the Toyota Club Cup is held here. If we get football supporters from all around the world logging on and arguing whenever their team is mentioned, then this no longer is 'Japan' Today. Then it just becomes 'Football Supporters Today' with no connection to being an English speaking person living in Japan. Am I wrong ?

Patrick Smash has hit the nail on the bleeding head. The BRitish taxpayer is subsidising these northern clubs including Man U.

They have tons of kids, thousands in dole money and spend it all on paying for Man U to keep winning, while all the while feeding their kids with Tesco economy rubbish.

Strewth, I worked all my life and end up finacially supporting your scousers and Mancunians. bloody liberty it is.

Club world cup final !! More like club world cup farce

  • OzKen at 03:10 PM JST - 22nd December

Man Yoo deserved their win last night. Their squad is so frighteningly strong, I think Sir Alex has described this particular squad as his strongest ever. That really is saying a lot.

  • whitepocky at 03:33 PM JST - 22nd December

Since when has northerners dependance on handouts influenced our teams winning more than southerners.

  • Patrick Smash at 03:44 PM JST - 22nd December

No bleedin jobs up Norf. Them poor bleedin' Londoners like Alf pays loads of tax, and it all ends up being given to Norvaaners in welfare. Then they all spends it at the footy and then goes off nicking stuff off decent folk what worked hard all their lives. That's how ManYoo got to the final of this tournament, and Liverpool a few years back. Welfare payments from the South, that's what's dunnit, and they don't even appreciate nothing, just hates poor hard working Suvvaners, that's wot.

  • Richard_the_First at 05:47 PM JST - 22nd December

Why does the media here obsess over one player though? From the pre game TV coverage, you would think that Man U only had one player as they ignored the rest.

  • bobbafett at 05:54 PM JST - 22nd December

I went to a bar and watched it and some girls screamed "oh you look like Ronaldo"....gush gush gush....So I went to the toilet, and while doing my business looked in the mirror and saw a young Al Pacino. Therefore I agree with Richard the first, Japanese fixate on something and make into what they want it to e even if it is nothing or bares a limited resemblance. BTW, I got my bounty anyway from my new found fame though I feel like I took a dive in the box to get it.

Moderator - in this thread have you used any specific criteria for determining which posts are deleted or edited due to being "off topic" or have you just picked posts at random?

Moderator: Once a moderator inserts a request, all readers are obliged to follow that request. A moderator posted a request that readers stay on topic and discuss the Club World Cup. Those that do not will be removed. Simple, isn't it?

  • MikeBarrymore at 11:48 AM JST - 23rd December

How could they lose? Playing substandard opposition, greasing palms and earning their income from Jobseekers allowance?

Real teams play with honour. Man Utd players just want money.

This cup win in no triumph.
