Major League Baseball and the players’ association said the series will be dedicated to assisting rebuilding in Japan following this year’s earthquake.

Good, Any Contribution, However Small would be Welcomed.

Today is the end of the 2010 MLB season, and a lot of playoff races are coming down to the final game.

Boston (90-71) and Tampa (90-71) are tied for the last AL playoff spot (wild card).

Texas (95-66) and Detroit (94-67) are fighting for AL's 2nd place and home-field advantage.

Atlanta (89-72) and St. Louis (89-72) are tied for the last NL playoff spot (wild card).

Milwaukee (95-66) and Arizona (94-67) are fighting fighting for NL's 2nd place and home-field advantage.

Haven't seen so many teams come down to the last game.

Through his interpreter, Ichiro declined to comment about the games in Japan.

“I think there’s going to be a lot of fans who would look forward to that kind of matchup - Ichiro vs. Matsui,” he said.

Yup, the ever gullible but fiercely patriotic Japanese fans will rush out to see a "matchup" of two .270 hitters.

Atlanta (89-72) and St. Louis (89-72) are tied for the last NL playoff spot (wild card).

My beloved hometown Braves folded like a Polish accordion during the month of September. 8.5-game lead for the wild card in the early part of the month and they completely let it slip away.

I've heard somewhere that Hanshin Tigers fans have a masochistic streak. The same must be true of Cubs and Braves fans.
