That's what they said about 2015 after the appalling decision to give 2011 to NZ. NZ just does not have the facilities to host a WC even if they are the best team in the world.
And as an Englishman I say give 2015 to Japan - we'll still be reeling from the cost of the Olympics!
Hey i have an idea.....why don't someone lay grass on all those cow paddocks in the schools where they play rugby but can't tackle (through fear of getting torn to shreds on rocks). Isn't that grassroots level. If you want to revitilize the sport here try that for starters. Oh and please don't give me the but japan is a volcanic island and grass doesn't grow so well........there are a ton of nice grassy paddocks in Hawaii.
The ticket prices for the Bledisloe were a disgrace. The cheapest reserved seats (i.e not having to get there at a ridiculous time just to find a spot) were Y12,000 ! And following the Lions tour of South Africa this seems to be the new trend in rugby union ticket pricing.
ratpack, good call!! NZ is also a volcanic island and we have lots of grass to spare. Maybe we should lend some of it to them, along with our retired players.
Deepair65, how much do you actually know about NZ facilities and the plans for upgrading?
Kiwis always favourites to win the world cup, and always choking. Haven't won one for 22 years. Home ground advantage seems like the only way they will get close. How sad

Despite home advantage, the French will still knock the All Blacks out in the semi-finals. The French only live for that moment every 4 years.
ease up on the NZ bashing already. All teams lose sometimes, just everyone makes a big deal when the All Blacks lose. They aren't undefeatable you know, but can beat any team when in form. There are bad losers and bad winners. Sour grapes anyone? You would think that such a small country losing an international sporting match wouldn't warrant such attitudes. If we did half as well as we do it would still be something. Any team that has beaten the All Blacks played damn well and deserved the win. As did we whenever we won. You are't all whinging poms are you? J.K. =)
Congratulations to NZ for getting a hosting opportunity, congrats to Japan if it gets one too.

I hope Japan gets the RWC. It will be some compensation for missing out on the 2012 Olympics.
And Bledisloe Cup tickets are still available. I ordered some today. But it is very complicated with all sorts of deadlines. Get 'em while you can.

I hate having to order tickets so early, when its hard to get other people to confirm. maybe I'll end up scalping them myself.
