    Good idea.

Isn't Tokyo already hosting an actual marathon in March? Granted, that's not nearly as close to the October selection date, but still.

Why half marathon, invite and urge Int'l Olympic Committee Members also to participate in this event and make it mammoth marathon. This will definitely increase the chances for Tokyo's bid for 2016.

better make it sponsored so Japanese athletes can get some training money seeing as major sponsors have pulled out of sponsoring JOC

Give up now!!! There is not enough room in this crowded polluted city to host an Olympic games.

Along with their bid to host the 1016 Olympics, Japan should make all efforts to improve the overall quality of their national team. In Beijing, they did not even place in the top 10 countries in the overall medal count, which is indeed very sad.

Since China and South Korea produce better caliber athletes, perhaps Japan can send representatives to each country to see if they can copy their level of training and discipline.

They don't have a chance of holding the Olympics. Upset too many with arrogant comments and actions.

Also that idiot Mayor would try to make himself centre stage and ruin the whole event.

Lets go funtime Olympics! Wonder if Ishihara will be running in it himself.

They could combine two planned events by getting Gov. Ishihara to give his bid promotion speech while running the half-marathon. He is such a windbag, it should be no problem for him.
