Hey look, Japanese winning on the PGA

Well done, Matsuyama! Have always liked him and felt he was downplayed compared to, what's his name again -- Ishikawa? -- who was on the lips of every single Japanese in the nation two years ago, but whom the nation has chose to collectively forget and be embarrassed about it mentioned since he wasn't up to the hype piled on him. Too bad, as he was a good kid, it seemed.

And he did it in spite of the poor sportsmanship of the gallery, who dropped bottles and yelled as he started his downswing to try to distract him.

@trouble, that's because there is no word in American for sportsmanship

(sarcastic reference to another recent JT sports thread)

That was one of the best playoffs I have seen in years. A very gutty performance by both players. Matsuyama will truly benefit from this win. He is the second Japanese to have more than one win in the U.S. He will get more. Ryo Ishikawa has more or less disappeared, but Matsuyama is well on his way to maybe a couple of wins this season .. maybe the next leap is to win a major!
