I like Michelle she is a real woman and maybe she will be one of the best first lady's in US history. She was successful on her own before her husband was President.
If Barrack came he would have shut it down and we would be celebrating Chicago 2016. Unfortunately, it appears Brazil will get it.

As long as Tokyo loses, I'm fine with any of the other finalists hosting the 2016 Olympic Games, but I guess I would prefer Rio de Janeiro. Let's spread the fun around!

Before all this hype for Chicago I was pretty sure they would finish either dead last or just ahead of Tokyo (dead last). Now I'm pretty sure Madrid is going to be dead last, followed by Tokyo, then Chicago, and finally Rio. I think Obama and his wife are really helping the bid, despite Chicago not being a realistic venue due to the economy and what not. What's more, a lot of Americans I know are really coming to like the idea whereas before they didn't seem to care or were against it (waste of money bidding).

Based on the crass commercialism and shocking displays and unsportsmanlike conduct in Beijing last year -- the baseball game in which the US, ahead on runs retaliated bean balls thrown by the Chinese pitcher by breaking the jaw of its catcher when sliding into home plate is the worst example that comes to mind -- it would not bother me in the least to see the IOC fold its tent and declare the games a failure. It would seem every four years the teams are out to surpass Berlin 1936 in terms of ultranationalistic fervor. Every four years I am obliged to unplug my television set for the duration.
