JEF United Chiba said Thursday that Alex Miller, a first-team coach of English Premier League powerhouse Liverpool, is set to join the struggling J-League club as manager to take over from Croatian Josip Kuze.
Miller, 58, has been offered a deal running through Jan. 31 next year and could join Chiba before a league match at home to Oita Trinita on May 17. Miller played for and had managerial stints with Scottish clubs before joining Liverpool in 1999. He helped Liverpool to win the European Champions League in 2005.
