And how many more would there be if the JSA did not limit the number of foreigners accepted into sumo beya? Japan`s national sport has become one that foreigners dominate, and there would be no more than a token Japanese or two in the makuuchi without the foreign rikishi restrictions.

Congratulations to all the foreign rikishi who are doing their best in sumo. Keep up the great work. You make us proud!

You are from Mongolia or a country of the former Soviet bloc, apparently? Or just happy anytime a random non-Japanese succeeds in Japan?

I am not Japanese but I find it kind of sad that there are not many young Japanese wrestlers making it through the ranks anymore. It's certainly nothing to celebrate about.

I feel that the old Japan Sumo Association needs a huge kick up the backside and a big shakeup. Get some young Japanese chairmen and maybe some non-Japanese board members too.

Ultradude: ok, nobody is happy with foreign wrestlers but then what options sumo beya has? abandon, so simple.

Personally, I'm happy anytime a random non-Japanese succeeds in Japan. It's a good thing for japan, and the individual.

    Peace

i am happy, too, with foreign wrestlers. japan players can take over US baseball but too many foreign wrestlers are not welcome in japan?!?!?!?!?!?! what a crock. i agree with hikozaemon. when people succeed it is good for everyone. try it. it feels good.
