Gee, although he was quite a character when it comes to politics and personality, I wish him a speedy recovery and best of health.

I agree with avigator, although I think he is a poor choice to be in this position, given his age and some of the stupid things he has said, I still wish him well.

Or, more accurately, "Mori to continue being very generously paid from the public purse for doing next to nothing, despite being even more unfit for the position than he was before".

Of course? What Japanese 'leader' would give up their pay when they are actually required to do nothing for it?

Smith - quite so. Still I hope he's soon feeling well enough to tell some more Japanese Olympians that they're not good enough for their responsibilities, like he did to poor Mao Asada at Sochi.

I'm actually quite angry that this buffoon, who was an international joke as PM, still has his snout so deep in the trough of public revenue.

I dont like Mori. In fact, I hate him. I don't wish cancer on him, but Id be grateful if he was removed from politics and unable to ever speak again.

Deep Thoughts by Yoshiro Mori:

"When I was greeting farmers from my car (in his first election in 1969), they all went into their homes (and ignored me). I felt like I had Aids," he said. Mr Mori later apologised for the comment.

"When there is a blackout, the murderers always come out. It's that type of society," Mr Mori quipped about America concerning the Y2K panic.

Asada has a habit of “always falling at the most critical time” of a competition."

In 1989, his political career floundered when he was implicated in a stocks-for-favours scandal that toppled Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita.

Mr Mori made more than $950,000 by selling pre-flotation Recruit Cosmos shares after they were made public.

Four years later, he denied allegations that he had offered money to silence a rightist group bent on criticising the former prime minister.

Must have been a smoker. He was, without a doubt, the worst PM in recent times. And I am counting Obuchi who was PM while he was in a coma. A perfect example of how Japanese factional politics produces leaders who are totally incompetent. Abe is not too far behind Mori on that count.

Not much money the Olympic committee big shot get paid. Aren't they nicknamed as Low paid busybody?

Hope he recover well soon. as his existence in O Com encourage to earn big ads that is why they chose him ignoring his big mouth. Sounds he is terrible in handling shares, Only less than 1 million? he did not have inside trade info?.

i doubt he will make it to the 2020 games, hell be 82, will he even still have his mind let alone still be alive

I hope he recovers...Having said that, how did he leap frog the thousands (millions?) or more qualified people for this position in terms of intelligence/athletic prowess/leadership ability ??
