Well done to Murray for getting business done, Serena too.

But Djokovic will want to watch out that he doesn't say anything that may be construed as making excuses, or we'll have to suffer even more complaints by those who see everything said as being an excuse...

Oh dear.

How about that? Been a while since his last win

Pukey2: "Oh dear."

No kidding. Someone's a little bitter!

Good on Murray! Didn't see that coming. Just goes to show you some people CAN actually beat the top player! And on his 29th birthday, to boot!

Lol, you didn't see it coming if you say so, but to his credit Pukey2 did. Murray had it given to him on a platter, or something, was the comment.

All the top players can beat Djokovic, and have.

fxgai: It must be especially hard because you can't fall back on the "No one is beating Djokovic" comment now. And besides, who is making excuses? You jumped on here immediately suggesting the player himself should 'be careful' in some bizarre and bitter lashing out for people who pointed out the very literal excuses being made, by nandakandamanda for example, before Nishikori went up against the Joker because it was likely the former would lose. Nishikori himself wasn't making excuses (the media were, though), nor is Djokovic.

So, why so bitter? Nishikori couldn't beat him this time, or last time, or the time before that, but Murray could. How about good on Murray instead of creating excuses that aren't there?

Why would I, in Nishikori taking Djokovic to a deciding set tie-break in his latest match, your face was rubbed in it completely already. Because according to you, he doesn't have the skill or ability to win, yet the difference was a deciding set tie-break. There is obviously no skill or ability deficiency there, especially considering he has been known to beat Djokovic in big semi-final matches (conveniently forgotten by you, always)

I didn't see nandakandamanda make any excuses as such, you just construed his/her comment that way. It's all in your head. The media made no excuses for Nishikori losing the deciding set tie-break that I saw, no excuses NEED be made for such a coin toss outcome.

nor is Djokovic.

Phew, lucky Djokovic. If Nishikori had been in Djokovic's shoes and complained about the rain like Djokovic did, you'd be all over it as "excuses". Oh no, your rig

Readers, no more bickering about Nishikori please.

The Scots tend to do well in the rain though, in all sports.
