Glad he's enjoying life in Scotland. I'd love to see him in the EPL, however it's more competitive and he might be only good as a substitute. On another note, Kawaguchi must be proud of his former team winning the FA Cup.

Good point but look at the Champions league experience he has had with Celtic and held his own. The SPL is laughed at in England and I agree that it is too small and you shouldn't play each other 4 times but there are teams with some quality.
In saying that, it would be nice to see him in England too. However, if he does stay at Celtic for another year then his next move is back to Marinos.

It was only last season (November 2006) when Celtic and Nakamura's free-kick beat Man Utd in the Champions League putting Celtic through to the knockout stages before Man Utd got there. Utd went on to win the Premiership and we know what they have gone and done this season. I think Celtic, and possibly Rangers, could hold their own in the Premier League. In 1992 Rangers knocked then English champions Leeds United out of the European Cup 4-2 on aggregate, winning both legs. I don't think the Premier League has too much to be smug about over Celtic or Rangers.

I've watched Nakamura almost every week for the past two seasons at celtic. He has moments of brilliance (usually free kicks) but he would definitely NOT hold down a spot in a premier league team. He should stay exactly where they value, need and, most of all, love him - at celtic.

Have to disagree with that. The likes of West Ham, Everton, Newcastle, Man City, Villa etc would play him. Only the Big 4 would not have a spot for him, but there again they are amongst the top 10 in the world. It's not just about his set pieces, watch his first touch and his first movement when he gets possession. Nakamura is lightweight and a little inconsistent, but there are plenty of Premier League mid-table teams that would have him.

northlondon, yes there are plenty of teams that "would have him" and i agree that some teams "would play him" - irregularly.
Do honestly think O'neil would play him instead of Barry or Young? Would he be chosen over Noble, Parker or Ethrington at WHU? Not on this year's form.
I would love to see him given the chance, but I think it would be real disappointing to see him make sporadic appearances for a mid-table club, and then be on a plane back to Japan.
