Looks like a flash in the pan.

Go back to sleep Japan. There's nothing here to see.

“His achievement of not losing to anyone other than King Federer is proof that Nishikori clearly can count himself in competition with the world’s top players,” the Yomiuri said

Wishful thinking. The difference between #24 and "the world's top players" is HUGE. Call me when he breaks into the Top 10. Then there might be something worth discussing.

Good luck to the young kid - yes, he has a lot of work to do to break the big time in the top 10 - but this is a start. Japan just doesn't have a tradition of tennis and champion players like the Americas, Australias and Russias - so hopefully he can inspire some kids here.

BTW - that is possibly the worst trophy EVER!
