The Canucks never really stood a chance. Still, they put up a good effort in this tournament overall, especially beating Tonga. Better luck next time.

The Irish Welsh match is going to be the best quarter final.

yes...I'd say 3 of the 4 quarter finals are completely up in the air wrt to who will win. Despite the loss of world's best player, DC, the tournament goes on ...and now there eventual winner is far more open...

the irish welsh game , the aus SA game and the france eng game are all going to be great games with any of those teams having a chance of going through.

Interesting QFs coming up. My tips - Kiwis will win by plenty, Ireland to get over the Welsh, Wallabies to beat Boks (if it is dry)...and the French to account for the hapless Pommies. Reports in the Aussie media are that the English players have been on the drink the entire tour, several allegations of sexual harrassment against them in hotels and bars - and Wilkinson can't kick. France will smack them.

Burakumindes i also heard martin johnson saying that england wernt targeting this world cup to win, they were however looking to win in england in 2015.

I have also read the stories of drunken english team members involved in sexual harrassment allegations, seems they there for a party only.

england wernt targeting this world cup to win

They've certainly been targeting the pubs and bars of NZ - and the female staff in those establishments, however! lol

So, one half are all northern hemisphere, and the other half all southern hemisphere?

Indeed. Yet they won the toughest group, undefeated and scored a fair few tries. Not bad for a team only interested in partying.

Heda Madness how was pool B the toughest group? I'd say Pool D would be harder given SA, Samoa and wales were in it. Poll D was called the pool of death.

Who in group B would offer a challenge to eng NO ONE. Scotland put up the best fight but they arn't ranked highly, Argentina are no where this time and georgia are no where, as are romania.

Group B would have been the easiest group of the lot. Just look at the ranking of the other teams in that group.

England have played crap and true to form.

Scotland and Argentina are better than Samoa. And they're both better than Italy.

Pool A had two teams who were always likely to go through. Pool C and Pool D had the same. Pool B had 3.

And yes, England have played crap. And won. And we had the balls to go for a try the other day when a penalty was all that was needed. And we're in the QF's of the world cup to match the last two final appearances. So yes, it's true to form.

Scotland are absolute rubbish and always have been, they might be a threat as far as your english team are concerned but they are nowhere as far as the southern hemisphere goes or the world cup, argentina are not what they were last cup either , no where near it.

I would love to have seen scotland play samoa, did you see what they did with south africa, gave them a hell of a fright.

England had the easiest pool and anyone who has even seen a rugby ball knows that.

The minnows have been swallowed by the sharks. Should be some great matches. Whos going to survive? Ill go with NZ, Eng, Wa and ... geez, tough to say. I always cheers for OZ, but lots of injuries... Ok, OZ!

For someone who pays so much attention to the rankings (it's better to be number 1 than win the wod cup) I'm surprised you don't know.

But at the start of the tournament the rankings were: 8 Scotland 9 Argentina 12 Samoa

Now Scotland and Argentina have switched places and Samoa have moved up to 10th. All in a it's clear to me that there are many people who have seen a rugby ball would suggest that England weren't in the easiest group. And none of that takes away from the fact that England have been poor. And the winners of the world cup will come from one of the other three quarters.

Right so Samoa have imprved plenty and are a much better team than their ranking suggested, even now id say they'd tip over scotland in a blink of an eye, pity they wont meet this time.

And scotland dropping down the rankings suggests they are shite ! Thats my Point ! Shite played shite ! Hardly the toughest group by along shot.

I look forward to france turning up and actually playing on the weekend, they probably wont but here's hoping.

It is a very interesting and myopic way you're looking at this. Because Argentina beat Scotland they're both shite. And Samoa are better because they're improving.

Incidentally the last time Scotland played Samoa they beat them. The last time they played South Africa they beat them as well. I don't think that Scotland are a particularly good team but they are better than Samoa and I maintain that given that Group B had 3 top 9 teams that group B was the toughest group. | Something that the IRB seemed to have agreed with.

An english man would think that heda madness, anyone from the southern hemisphere would not think those teams are strong, NZ can consistantly go to the northern hem and beat england, scotland, wales and ireland in a 4 week period one game after the next, in fact last time we did that we did it all with out having a try scored against us, its called a grand slam. Tough group nah we dont think so.

Scotland would struggle hard against samoa now and they would not beat SA at the moment, every team can be beaten at different times, some more often than others.

and also heda madness You say

Because Argentina beat Scotland they're both shite. And Samoa are better because they're improving.

England just beat scotland so that means england are shite coz scotland sure are, is what i meant by shite played shite !
