I bet if Chicago wins, Obama will appoint an Olympics Czar. He can bring back Van Jones or some other race-baiter to complain the US Olympic team is not racially diverse enough...

  • Wikikibeach at 01:15 PM JST - 29th September

"So, why is he going there on the taxpayer's dime in the first place?"

He's going there to piss those right-wing like yourself off. What are you gonna do about it?

    Tatanka,

If Chicago loses the bid, watch for some U.S. liberal to say the IOC is made up of racists.

Jeez Romeo Calm down guy. Over 40% of the posts on this article are by you alone. I personally dont think that this will make a bit of difference though. Most people seem to wanna take it to Rio. I dont see why though. I have been to Rio and while I enjoyed myself, I found Sao Paulo to be a much better looking city. Go figure.

I wouldn't say the IOC is made up of racists. It most definitely is made up of crooks.

    Go Rio! Go!

Someone's got a chip on his shoulders! You just said something like this before horsefella showed your comments for the petty and hypocritical statements they are. Seriously, relax, bud.

Anyway, now there's even LESS chance Japan will get it, with Obama stealing the limelight (whatever would be given) to Hatoyama. Still think it should go to Rio, and likely will, but this will help the US' chances SLIGHTLY.

I struggle to see anyone wanting to go to watch in Chicago.Too much crime and not enough exoticism for that place to win, even with the Obama last gasp turn up. I mean doesn't he have bigger problems to deal with ?

A far, far more relevant hypothetical would be to imagine the outrage if Bush had, while in office, lobbied for Houston to be the host of a future Olympics.

And I believe that working to push Houston as a future site for the Winter Olympics is the perfect channel for his skills and abilities.
