Congrats to Darren Clarke. Could not think of a more fitting winner. Three men from Northern Ireland have now won three of the last six majors. Time to start looking seriously at why Japan, a country many times its size/population, and with many more golfers, can't produce just one.

Well done to Clarke. Great win. It seems maybe Northern Irish are just genetically perfect for the game of golf - there is no stopping their dominance of the game!

It is? It's not exactly an international crisis. How many Japanese players even play regularly overseas? Maybe at the majors a few guys show up.

The women - who do play more internationally - win more internationally. Play more = win more. Simple golf calculus.
