Dear John: Thanks for telling me nothing I don't already know. I've known Eddie Jones ever since he was running around at Randwick in Sydney in the 1980s. Average talent as a player and very average as a coach. He did nothing for the Wallabies. Meanwhile Alan Jones is an even bigger no talent. He just got lucky in that he crawled his way into the Wallabies job many years ago when Australia had perhaps the best backs ever, anywhere, the Ella brothers. It also has to be remembered that Alan Jones was in the pre-professional era, when everyone actually had a job.
