Kotoshyu, promoted or not, is the best. His sumo technique is brilliant and his noble attitude and lovely face is beloved by Japanese audience and sumo lover all over the world. He has reached everything in his career: European sumo champion, World wrestling champion, Emperor's cup. There is only one thing left - to become yokozuna. He has so many thropheys that Asashoryu looks like a schoolboy next to him. Go Kotooshyu!
I'm a fan of the Bulgarian Boy, but he hasn't performed at ozeki status apart from his tournament win this time...maybe another 2-3 basho to show he's truly worthy of a Yokuzuna rank.
JT's English is even worse than mine. What is the meaning of "Bulgarian Kotooshu will make his maiden voyage" Kotooshu's way is the way of the man, not a boy, not a maiden, not a maid but a man who will destroy all obstructions on his way.
Uhh, I dont know what that first poster is talking about, Kotooshu hasn't performed worth a damn in the last 8-9 tournaments, with the obvious exception of the last one.
Im actually a big fan of his, but he has not been pulling his weight as Ozeki at all, just going through the motions. But he was outstanding in the last tourney. If he can keep this up, with either a series of respectable scores in the next few tournaments, or another 1-2 wins, then maybe he can make it. But I doubt even another win in Nagoya would automatically make him Yokozuna.
Kotooshyu will teach Asashoryu a lesson how to behave in the world of sumo and what Bulgarian power is. He is adorable and strong, God have given him everything and more.
I am with you teru, this boy is going down. He should pray he does not become Yokozuna. There is no demotion from the top. Your just fired and I really think the lad couldn't hack it at the top for too long.
I would like to see the Japanese rekishi compete better with the foreign rekishi, but I believe Kotooshu will become the dominant Yokozuna by the end of this year.
So far from what I have seen on telly the japanese whipped their butts in exhibition matches in the USA, etc.
Said that why do rikishi in the west wear shorts and the belt.
As for the next tourney I wish Kotooshu all the best but he will have a tough fight on to win it.

I don't know about all of the above, but I think I speak for hairy-backed men all over Japan when I say I really want to see Kotooshu as a Yokozuna.

"the top-ranked ozeki"
The Bulgarian gladiator doesn't have much competition in that department.
Go, Kotooshu!

The Bulgaria Kid has no chance this time, the Mongolian Menaces will dump him out.
