$100 million. for somebody who can throw a ball with some speed and movement, wouldnt it be great if similar money was spent on intelligent minds that invent new technology for the better of mankind. imagine if kids where taught to idolise scientist, saints and people you devote there lives caring fo people in need. this world would be a much better place

It is. Go look at the list of the world's richest people. It includes Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Zuckerberg, etc etc etc. The tech minds are those making the mega bucks.

It is only $100 million, not multi billion dollars. He get that kind of money because owners of teams make a lot and a lot of money. Dodgers is wealthy. So is Angels. They have a variety of commercial incomes beside plenty of ticket sales. Adding Tanaka will increase ad by all sort of Japan Inc. in USA. Any teams will love to have Tanaka. Well, Ranger already spent contract money. But there are many more teams. BTW, I live Southof Vegas and there are many multi illionaires. Figure many many billionaires in USA. Tanaka just get a contract for his ab.ility. Why shold he donate to something billionaires have been helping with a lot and a lot of money? It is just like demanding $10 hour workers to donate 2 dollars /hour to a begger
