So NHK-BS should terminate broadcast contract with MLB, as for Ichiro his total count 200 hits will be known at the end of the season and Matsuza will be hardly on rotation.

I feel bad for Iwamura. He was doing pretty good, too. Have you seen the video of the play? All I can say is ouch!

I like Iwamura, too. He was a middle-of-the order run producer in NPB who was able to make the transition to a leadoff-type, middle infielder in MLB, and be a very useful player for his team. Other IFs like Kazuo Matsui and Tadahito Iguchi were never able to have the same success in MLB because they couldn't make the same changes in how they played the game.

I never could understand why the Mariners gave Johjima the 3 year/24 million dollar contract starting this season, other than maybe they just think it is a transfer of money from one set of Japanese hands-Nintendo-to another in Johjima's. The Mariners found others to play catcher during Johjima's terrible 2008 campaign, so they will do the same each and every time he flops or gets hurt through 2011.
