Always good to hear the Aussies lose .......biggest whingers of them all when it comes to losing at sport

Fred: Not at all. In any case, South Korea had a solid goal to win -- none of this winning by penalties stuff that is going on in some of the games. Australia just couldn't deliver in the end. And SK couldn't have gotten it any easier with whom they'll face in the quarters (of course, there are always upsets). Australia should beat China, so they may end up meeting again.

Great defense by South Korea. They were always right up in the Aussies faces, not giving them time to play. Only problem was that they were exhausted with 20 minutes to go. Australia had a couple of chances to level it then but didn't have the flair to do so. Felt like South Korea won this one is the planning stage - analysing what they were up against and training to counter it. Well done.

Seems like you may have been burnt by us Aussies on the sporting field in the past, eh Fred?!

Korea deserved to win, the Socceroos are still a pretty ordinary side that was pumped up by the press and coach after bullying a couple of gulf teams. Without Cahill and Kruse they had nothing in attack. There is a very real chance the Chinese could beat us in the QF...

South Korea's defense has been superb. 3 shutouts. Looks like they're the team to beat.
