England above Brazil? Just doesn't look right. Japan above England might be more appropriate!

Right, so now maybe someone can ask FIFA why the Euro Championships next year (hosted by UEFA, the European arm of FIFA) have put Germany and England into the 2nd ranked pot, with Poland and Ukraine into the 1st ranked pot?? What is the point of trying to take these rankings seriously if they have no affect whatsoever on major football tournaments and the like?? If FIFA and UEFA are totally going to ignore the official rankings when they need them for tournament draws, then don't bother producing them!

Wasn't Japan 18th previously? Did they drop a rank for the loss to NK?
Anyway, it's odd to see some national teams drop in ranking despite winning all or almost all matches.

TigersTokyoDome,
Poland and Ukraine are UEFA hosts, so similar to the World Cup, hosts are seeded on Pot #1, as favor to hosts. So everybody else gets bumped down 2 spots.
FIFA rankings are just snapshots anyways - meaning your rank at that current time.
