    Well, the Japanese didn't fair too well in this event, but so be it. Better luck next time, although Date should perhaps start thinking about retirement.

    I still can't understand why all the Japanese players were injured (I heard Date had broken a bone in her hand not long before this tournament).

    It seems harsh to say that someone who lost in what was really a tight-fought game "crashed out" - to me that signifies some kind of seriously thrashing.
