“Financial stability is one of our strengths,” Tokyo’s 2016 bid communications manager Masanori Takaya said Saturday.

No, it isn't. Look at Shin Ginko Tokyo.

"Communications manager" sounds a little too 1984-ish for me.

And what about the Shin Tokyo Ginko, I wouldn't trust Blinky and friends with so much money. Wait, what's that smell, it's pork.

Here's an idea. If we ever get the Aso bonus, we could be given the choice of using our ¥12,000 to a) help pay NHK fees, b) donate to the Tokyo Olympic Ishihara retirement fund, c) put it towards an increased consumption tax payment, d) other suggestions welcomed.

    Since when is Tokyo insolvent?

The issue isn't the solvency of Tokyo - it's fine.

The issue is I have yet to meet anyone in the city who actually supports the games. Most people I have talked to see it is a waste of money when there are other far more important social projects to be focused on.
