Cue 2021, Tokyo taxpayers will be left to foot the bill.

No problem. Come 2020 Japan ... and especially Tokyo ... will be ready for the Olympics. Japan has never failed to host major sports events ... and will again be successful in holding the Olympics in 2020.

Ready or not, here we go ... four years of hard work and all kinds of excitement ... and success ...

Japan has previously hosted sports events when the economy was in better shape. Not when Fukushima is still being tinkered with etc. Oh Japan will host the event successfully - but the price will be crushing.

Japan being Japan, they will throw money at it until everything works as it should. But following the Tokyo Olympics will be another lost decade as the debt crushes the economy (again)

Another example of "careful what you ask for because you may get it". Why not sub out some event - equestrian events could be run in Tohoku and soccer and baseball could be played in Osaka. While the big print says the Olympics will open and close in Tokyo, I don`t know that the small print precludes events from taking place elsewhere. Remember Beijing? Equestrian events were in Hong Kong. Worth a think or two?

Tokyo will be profitable just like LA 84 or London 2012, why because Tokyo is metropolitan city just like the aforementioned two cities. I have not made this up, that is how the reasoning goes. By the way, does anyone have any information whether the many stadia that were built for the Korea-Japan WC are fully been used or have turned to white elephants. I know Kobe Wing stadium is a white elephant, it was not necessay at all.

Not mentioned is the date, August 2020. The Tokyo 1964 games were moved to October for more hospitable weather. Mexico 1968 also did this. It'll need to be moved again

The organisation and infrastructure will be great, and the Japanese will be fantastic hosts, but the weather is a bit of a worry ...

The above article forgot to compute huge ad income by Japan inch, such as Nintendo, Toyota, Nissan, Yokohama tire and a couple hundred more companies lined up already.
