Wenger says Arsenal fans have been 'brainwashed'

Well I have been an Arsenal fan all of my life and I would argue that many Arsenal fans have been brainwashed by Arsene Wenger, not the media.

He really is the king of excuse making. And why is he under pressure from the media and fans? Because Wenger has not won a single thing for 8 years. And for a top club that is a big failure. I am not sure why is getting so confident. We have only played 3 games and lost the 1st of those. And the 3-0 win at Bayern? Everyone knows that was a dead rubber after Bayern had hammered Arsenal 4-0 in London in the 1st leg. Bayern had nothing to worry about.

And as for the (lack of) transfer activity despite the bold statements during the summer of a 'warchest'. What an embarrassment. As usual Wenger tries to get quality players on the cheap and by playing poker (not very well) and has lost out on Higuain, Bernard, Gustavo, Cassillas, made a complete mess of Suarez, and is still playing games over Cabaye.

The fans have only been 'brainwashed' by Wenger's lack of trophies and transfers.

Being exposed to soccer when you are very young must be a necessary step in creating a love for the sport. Sports fans must at some time realize that the opposing team is also playing and want to win too. That is the explanation for losses. Ever notice how they are never asked how they won?
