They don't need to change the mound. The only thing that needs a change is pitchers' elbows. If they want to use a delivery that puts incredible stress on that joint, that's up to them. Find a less destructive way to deliver a pitch, or resign yourself to Tommy John surgery.
Satchel Paige pitched into his 50s. He used to throw a ton of innings and never had arm problems. People should be modeling their pitching motions on people like him. It might make their arms less susceptible to injury.
