NAGOYA —
Tyrone Woods hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the fifth inning and Masahiro Yamamoto picked up his 202nd career win Sunday, leading the Chunichi Dragons to a 5-1 win over the Yakult Swallows.
Woods connected off Dicky Gonzalez (0-1) to put Chunichi ahead 4-1 after Lee Byung Kyu ended the team’s scoreless streak at 37 innings with a game-tying single in the fourth in Central League action at Nagoya Dome. Yamamoto (9-3) won his sixth consecutive start after throwing seven innings of one-run ball. Chunichi snapped a four-game losing streak while handing Yakult its first loss in four games.
