New commissioner looking for a scapegoat to appear tough on the issue perhaps??? Only 3 have ever been suspended due to failed doping test - all foreigners. Are you trying to tell me that Kiyohara's sudden growth in his Giant years is from dedication in the weight room? Every Japanese sportsfan I have spoken to today about this story has cried foul against the Japan pro baseball association.

Blood tests don't lie and they know no national boundaries.

If the tests turn up positive they took the banned substance.

You bet Kiyohara's growth is from working out and it ain't sudden, pal.

Kiyohara is the Barry Bonds of the NPB. Of course he has used steroids. His head is bigger than Bonds now.

If Kiyohara was the taking steriods, he was on the wrong ones...

NPB has only had a significant drug testing program in place since last season began.

Strangely, Kiyohara has only played in a handful of 2nd team games the past 1 1/2 seasons. There will come a day when his story comes out and it will not be pretty. Many Japanese will adopt a head-in-the-sand attitude, though.

Blood tests don't lie and they know no national boundaries.

NPB did not have the current drug testing system in place during the 2000-2006 seasons during which Kiyohara miraculously grew to Incredible Hulkian proportions.

Guttormson, Gonzalez, and Rios have all been busted and deservingly so.
