Hanshin Tigers !
Yomiuri are the Yankees of Japanese yakyu.
A lot of money and power, but their highly paid superstars don't make a team.
Got a good feeling about the Tigers this season. Good new players in (Arai) and their pitching looks better.
Let's go Lewie Ford, oohhh !
Hanshin is also a team which buys the best players from others. If Yomiuri is the most popular and the richest Hanshin is not far behind Yomiuri. Yakult on the other hand has to produce its own players and so they have. Aoki going 4 for 5 is the biggest talent since Ichiro. He is fast, excellent fielder and has great bat control.
Ahaha! I can't believe how the Giants seem to find ways to lose after building up an even more ridiculously powerful team than the last year.
Four of their batters would be at No.4 in any other team (Ogasawara, Ramirez, Lee, Abe).
Hanshin does buy a few players (like stealing Kanemoto and Arai from Hiroshima), but compared to the money they must make off their rabid fans, they're pretty stingy. Far too many Hanshin players batting .240 with no power or speed...ugh.
Yakult all the way, a nice honest team, not some overpaid superstar team of big-hitters.. It's going to be green umberellas all season, so glad they beat the Giants...
