YOKOHAMA —
Team officials from Yokohama F Marinos are in Scotland this week trying to work out a deal with Celtic that would bring Shunsuke Nakamura back to Japan. But according to Monday’s online edition of the Evening Times, Celtic are adamant to extend the 29-year-old midfielder’s contract, which expires in two months, for another year.
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan was quoted as saying, ‘‘It’s a must that we keep Naka for another year. I’ve told him that this club is suited to him and that it’s a dream club for a player like him. He absolutely loves it here. And he knows how much the fans, the players and the coaches love him.’’

2 months left only? hes going home definitely then...no club could seriously want to keep a player with that short a contract left....
This is surprising, given the important goals that he has scored for them recently.
anyways, celtic will lose the title to Rangers so theres less incentive for Nakamura to stay. He really should go to a premier league club b4 coming back to Japan. He is still in his prime (withstanding injuries) and could come back to Japan in 2 years time and still outplay them all.

The contract runs out in two months, but Celtic can exercise a 12-month option to retain his services. I have a feeling he'll stay there for another year. Like you though KC, I think he should try his luck in the english premiership. Mind you, I'm not sure he's good enough.
