Zheng Jie was oh-so-close! Good job! Nishikori-san gokurosama! Hope to see them both in London in a couple of weeks or so!

Yup, both came away with "moral victories", again. Wake me when Nishikori can do better than losing in three straight sets in the third round of a major.

How can they put Zheng Jie in the same sentence as Nishikori?
Zheng has won 4 WTAs, while Nishikori is the usual Japanese big fish in a small pond who isn't going anywhere on the international stage. He's the japanese Ryo Ishikawa of tennis.
Get over yourself Japan, China's sportspeople are true athletes.

Take it up with AFP.

Interesting how they paired a Japanese and a Chinese in the title. Perhaps AFP think they are basically the same thing.... Sorry Hide Suzuki - Zheng Jie took Williams to a huge final set. Nishikori took the second to a tie-break and was then sent home with a spanking. Ganbatte!

I'm just grateful this article doesn't mention Matsuoka Shuzo!
