24" Laptop? Does it come with wheels?

Sony Vaios may be good, but they are just too damn expensive. If someone wants an ultra portable laptop they can buy a netbook for 4-5maan with similar specs and battery life.

Sony's break after 1 year. I had a Vaio once and 7 things broke on it. I was lucky i got the extended warranty...

Ask any Japanese otaku and they will tell you about the "Sony Timer"...

Sony should give up on these. They are ruining their reputation. As pointed out Vaio`s are notorious for breaking

Yeah, better get the extended warranty. First my cable melted where you plug it into the computer, then my screen went black and I had to replace it(it would have cost 80man) and now my battery is broken too - all this within 2 years.

24" Laptop? Does it come with wheels?

Where in the article does it say the 24" computer is a laptop or a notebook? Sometimes, you have to use your common sense.

Actually I like the design of Vaio, but as Dis said, they're too expensive. They're relying on their brand name too much. Personally I haven't had any problems with my 5 year old Vaio at the office, but other products from Sony stink. Had a portable CD player and MD player, and they both started going strange within a year or two.

I've had my Sony Vaio for nearly 4 years. It's been everywhere and no problems except that it needs a new battery. My only gripe is with all the Sony junk-ware that comes pre-installed.

Lithium-Ion batteries only last 2-3 yrs.

=If you don't use it -it will still go bad. =Buy a new one with the freshest date. A 2-3yr old unused lithium-ion battery is most likely a dead one.

VAIOs tend to look good on the inside, but aren't that hot inside (mirroring Japanese society, no?) The last super-slim VAIO was a real looker but it couldn't run Vista properly (i.e. sluggish graphics.) 20 hours on an external battery? Has that been tested?

I've heard that Sony Vaio laptops are not so good. However, I have had a desktop for 5 years now and no problems. The only thing that I had to get changed was the burned out backlight for the monitor (which was free of charge from Sony; I only had to pay the shipping costs to the factory. It took about 6 days for them to change it and send it back to me).

My brand new sony vaio laptop broke after 1 year and 4 months, it couldn't play CD's and DVD's anymore, keyboard fell apart, etc...It was my fault thou, i didn't listen to my friends who told me to stay away from sony vaio laptops at all cost...i was hooked on their cool looks...learned my lesson, never again anything from sony. Ever since, my new toshiba laptop is still unbreakable after 2 years of heavy use...

tisk, tisk, tisk, the good old days when sony was number 1 in the world, the coolest, etc..are over!

  • jason6 at 01:15 PM JST - 15th October

I am counting down the days until Sony files for bankruptcy protection. Maybe some Chinese company will buy it and gut it for the brand name? Seriously, it's pretty sad how far they've fallen, if only because I wanna be able to play future iterations of the Playstation..
