You can now pay with your iPhone at nearly 700,000 locations nationwide

Really? Because I haven't seen it at a single location.

nationwide. as in US only I assume. Here in Japan, (or at least Osaka, Pitapa is taking over and I love it).

as for a gold iwatch or macbook pro. does one really need it. Starting to go in the same direction as the overpriced lamborghini smartphone.

Serious meh... apple had a not 1 but 2 two min videos about how they made the case out of metal! woah!

They want us keep phone in bag to use their watch, New USB C means u have to buy n carry all overpriced extra accessory..people will buy for more show off than actual usage ...

MacBook was cool, but not interested in a watch that requires the phone to be with you anyway.

I might use my bonus to pick up the cheap model watch if it doesn't look too dorky on my wrist but anything more high-end than that seems like a waste. I can justify a USD 350 watch (I've bought watches around that price before), but kind of bummed that the all steel ones run into the 1,000's....oh well. I guess getting married and starting a family has tamed my inner lack of common sense.

A watch with less than 24 hours of battery life can't be called a watch... it needs to be rename the Apple gimic, you are seriously tethered to a wall socket with this thing

Before all the Applle bashers go crazy on this watch, it is no different to any other so-called 'smart-watch' on the market except for the fact that, it has much more functionality than its rivals. The Samsung watch does bugger all! I agree that this is somewhat of a gimmick, but that is only because it is the first generation of wearable technology. I have no doubt there will be major improvements in design and functionality in the next few years. Having said this though, I won't be rushing out to buy one. Did you see the price of 'Edition' model? Fifteen hundred bucks? Holy smoke! The new macbook is pretty speak though!

There's a brand new pebble steel (compatible with both apple iOS and android) coming out soon that will be just under $300. And it's waterproof enough to use in the shower or when swimming.

the fact that, it has much more functionality than its rivals

"much more functionality"...are you sure?

The commenters on here complaining about either the lack of functionality, the price or a combination of both have completely missed the point. Apple spent half of the Watch keynote talking about the craftsmanship & engineering feats behind not only the casing, but also the bands. Look at the promo material - it's very uncharacteristically Apple. Notice the lack of an 'i' in the Watch? They poached Angela Ahrendts from Burberry to completely change the face of Apple. Joining the dots yet? Apple is striving to be a lifestyle brand. They have not once mentioned the word "smartwatch"

IT'S NOT ABOUT TECHNOLOGY. It's a lifestyle product that competes directly with other watchmakers. Sure, it's no mechanical watch & you might argue that is in a category of its own, but that's exactly the point. You can't compare this to some $200 smartwatch. The Milenese loop strap will set you back ¥50,000 alone. As a connoisseur of Swiss watches, I'm not sold on the Apple watch but we'll see what happens in 12 months...

I've heard all the PRO's & CON's regarding "The Apple Watch" and as splendid and as marvelous as this little device may be, keep in mind that this is a "Consumer Electronic" device and it is evident that it will expire in about 8 Months starting after April 24th meaning the Next Generation Apple Watch will be introduced probably before next Valentines Day.

Conscience of that fact, I have humbly decided to pass on purchasing the watch and not because of the price tag (no not the 18K I am not that crazy) but because it will essentially go into a jewelry box once it expires.

Well, if any of you guys do actually go out and purchase this watch, do one favor for me?

Raise up the watch and yell: "Khaaan! Khaaan! Khaaan!"

I just love that scene in "The Wrath of Khan" and I thought I would do that one day if technology ever came around to having computers on our wrists like in Star Trek - LOL

Good idea. A Swiss watch might even appreciate in value over time, but a year or two from now, this will look like email to a teenager.

Seems Apple TV hasn't caught on. It's rare for Apple to cut price of latest model Apple product, let alone by a third. They always keep their prices premium since they know people will pay for it. Do notice more people with Roku.

The watch was supposed to be the star of the keynote, but what really shined was the Macbook. What a wonderful piece of design.
