Amazon.com is going to be like Netflix, Hulu and the networks and not allow those with a U.S. credit card address living/working overseas to access these services. Luckily (right now) iTunes continues to allow us to make purchases. Seems unfair that a business person working temporarily overseas would not be able to download these types of shows.

This is really pointless news for those of us who live in Japan. You can't download or do anything unless you have a US credit card, and even if you had one, if you access from an IP address outside the US you get blocked anyway.

Seems like everyone is trying to get on the online entertainment business. Yesterday, I found that some youtube content providers are allowed to charge a fee for some of their videos.

@Tokyogas - Have you noticed that Japan is late to the game (and/or hasn't even tried signing up) as usual in these last 20 years and they offer essentially nothing??? There are a great number of people in other parts of Asia that would pay for J-entertainment (that's what I'm told they call it), but iTunes Japan still has ZERO available from the J-networks.
I haven't checked YouTube recently for the charge for fee content, but are they allowing downloads in Japan??? Last time I checked they weren't.

@movieguy The content cannot be downloaded outside the USA. I was just surprised to come across it on youtube.

Why is there news here about something that doesn't affect any of us Japanese residents? Aren't their pertinent tech articles to be published?
