Free internet is a great feature. Kindle store is a bug.

So from what source will you be able to download reading material for the islate? And via what? The internet? Wireless? 3G? For free? Because that's what I get with the my Kindle here in Japan. I seriously doubt that Apple will be able to provide the same support for the islate in Japan. They would be stupid if they went the Softbank route, again...

I love my Kindle. Almost everything about it. The only complaint I currently have is that there is no Japanese language content available for it although the Kindle is advertised and available through Amazon Japan. My guess is that this is because there's just not enough digitized Japanese literature in existence but I'm sure that will change as demand arises and the Japanese people catch on to reading literature on portable digital format other than their cell phones.

USNinJapan2: Because you can already do it on the iphone (ie. there is kindle app already for the iphone), the islate is just basically a larger iphone.

So to download reading material for the islate you have to get it via a softbank connection?

USNinJapan2 I think that the current kindle does not support Japanese characters. At least the online Kindle content creation site does not. I hope that the new "International" Kindle will.
