False. iPhones and iPads are produced in Brazil too - a leftist country with super protectetive labor laws.

Everything becomes dependent on bandwidth and internet connectivity. If there are problems with either; your work slows down, or you just can't access it. Data security - well that's another issue...

I can see what he's saying, and maybe it won't really matter because the cloud won't last - not because the cloud is terrible, but maybe because the technology will become advanced enough so that you don't need the cloud. Maybe you can have your own cloud server in your own home.

With Tonido free software, anyone can make their own "cloud" at home and have backup drives too. Works very well. Just ordered a Mac Mini Server and will go that way, although I have about 100GB of cloud space but nothing of any real importance on it.

I agree about wanting a 'local cloud' - I use a Pogoplug device at home.

A lot of what Cloud computing does is just use the cloud to propagate data across your devices. You still store the data on your devices not the cloud.

Most people like to own the products they pay money for. When will the greedy IT industry, which ultimately wants to control us and own all our data, learn that?

Missing is the point that Apple is Made In China and that America sells out to China everyday. Maybe if it didn't do that it wouldn't be so unemployed. It's not like in the case of Apple the prices would really matter. You pay hundreds for a hunk of plastic and special metals so what's another hundred to the fanboi's? Apple is a great example of what America lost.

If Apple did have such high margins, Microsoft would not exist.

@ka_chan Apple does, and Microsoft has been hemorrhaging money on their private/consumer side of the business for years.
