Despite being an Apple user, the Music app has two flaws IMO. First you need to register a credit card with Apple, to have access to the trial period. Second, it's only available to iTunes in the most recent versions. People like me, users of iPhones (the 6), and Macbooks (2009 model, still running like brand-new), are either left out of Music or a little bit cautios about it. That said, my friends who have tried it, say it's better than Spotify.

Hence why I source my MP3 collection from YouTube and similar sites, takes less than 5 seconds to extract the MP3 from the Video plus about 4-5 seconds to download it.

Sound quality not importing as I listen via my BT Headset while outside walking and cycling.

For most people the convince to listen fast and anywhere beats quality that gets lots in background noise while on the move.

Plus, many of the songs I like we're recorded between the 60's and 80's on simple equipment and were NOT digitally remastered.

As was most said most people can't tell the difference or are interested if it can be shared across their devices.

So far any company that tried to set their own standard flopped.

I beg to disagree. Nowadays young people use high-end quality headphones or have boomboxes in their room. With these, you can clearly notice the difference in high, mids and lows. Of course, you only will tell the difference between AAC, FLAC or MP3 if you listen the same song in two of these formats. As a DJ, I can't say in seconds in which format a song was downloaded and is being played.
