What a stunning violation of copyright this library is! And what a clever argument its defender makes: "If you, the author, didn't want to be in it, you should have found out we were copying your book and told us you were unhappy about it, and we would have taken you out of it." I suppose if the library is successful, every counterfeiting company in China can take the same tack with all of the companies whose products they copy: "Hey, if you didn't want us to copy it, you should have tracked us down and told us so!"

I get that an author's work is his livelihood and I get that few people should not have that much power over such decisions but, aren't these unclaimed works meant for students. I mean American students are already forced into debt upto a decade after they graduate. And the faculty is already paid considerably less compared to other professions with similar qualifications. We now have people claiming compensation and stalling of distribution of books that are out of print and no one was going to buy in the first place.
