My little remote will start my car from the comfort of my home, warm it up, and then when I get in on those cold mornings, my little toes are nice and warm. It also unlocks my door when I am within 10 feet, if I want. Seeing Docomo is the only supplier, who cares. Technology won't go anywhere here because it's not needed.
Forget what manufacturer it is (Vauxhall, maybe), but I've seen this technology in a key fob about 3 or 4 years ago now. Not really that big a revelation, although cool nevertheless.
sounds like it will be instantly converted into a car-bomb remote control somewhere in this world.I think the technology that stops stolen cars is more interesting, being from a country of carjackings.

This technology has been around for years. Probably Toyota applied it large scale. I doubt Vauxhall pioneered or led it, but I confess I have not looked into this in depth. Using a cell phone to do the tricks is just a small change from the key fobs.
Very nice. . .BUT what if you were to lose your cellphone or it gets stolen or hacked, does this give the person full access to your car?? With the GPS they can also locate your house.
I would like to see a security solution for this before i would actually try something like this.

Someday they will invent a cellphone that can, with the touch of a button, blow up the world. I pray that day never arrives.
