I remember when I was in high school in Tsukuba city, our class had the opportunity to talk with Mamoru Mouri via teleconference.
Even though I am studying in business today, these experiences can be very inspiring to young future scientists, and at least nostalgic memories for others.
I appreciate that these astronauts take the time to pass the excitement of science on to our future generations.
I talk to the shuttle/space station by (licensed) radio link all the time, (they do fuel cell tests for my clients), it's no big deal unless you wake them. NASA likes to do that bit. It's the space diaper bits I don't care to hear about!
