Kinda like Windows forcing me to upgrade without my consent

Didn't realise having a Facebook account was compulsory, live and learn

More proof that Millenials are the laziest, softest generation in history.

Those poor babies. When they're not obsessing over children's games, they're complaining about having to press their fingers on a smartphone 2 more times than they'd like.

Copied the Windows 10 model?

I didn't want Messenger the first time. It really annoys me. Just had a look on what is running in the background in my phone - Messenger is top, using the most memory and power.

Facebook needs to realise that there are limits to its use. People prefer WhatsApp or Line for messaging each other.

Nice, you've taken a relatively straightforward article about the tools people want to use and turned it into justification for your belief that certain groups of people are inferior to you. You rhetoricking: GOOD!

I'm not sure what "rhetoriking" means, bud I AM good! Cheers!

I'm not a FB user. When FB began there was a very short article in the papers stating that the CIA and / or other US agency had invested $60 million in the company. I've heard nothing more since. This cannot be a coincidence. FB is actually doing the CIA homework. If the CIA's job is to connect dots and see who's connected to who when looking into criminal activity, FB, and I'm sure now other social media, are doing their work. All they need is a connection to their system and bingo, all their work is done. Thank you, no thank you.

talaraedokko - assuming you aren't a criminal/terrorist, what are you worried about?

Privacy. Don't confuse it with secrecy.

Paranoia.

If that ridiculous story about the CIA owning part of Facebook were even remotely true, it would have been exposed within a half hour.

But with grown adults actually believing in 9/11 and fake moon landing conspiracies, it goes to show that people will believe anything if they see it on the internet.

Facebook - just about every time I log in (Google Chrome is VERY and eerily similar) - asks for my cellphone number "for better account security". I still haven't given it to them (and won't; neither will I give my number to Google Chrome or any other Internet organization I don't trust). If they want to delete my account because of such, they can. It won't hurt my feelings one iota...

Pah! Where did you read that then?

Personally I have no use of those messenger APP(s), I have emails and SMS and it is plenty enough to stay in touch.

"clamenza Privacy. Don't confuse it with secrecy." "Paranoia."

People generally use curtains and window blinds for the same reason: privacy. That's not secrecy nor paranoia. Or, don't you use curtains?

Frederic Bastiat - I think I see the flaw in your reasoning here. Window blinds in my home are used for a concrete reason. Reality.

You seem to be greatly confused about what is real and what isn't. I've seen this before.

My advice is turn off your PC and walk outside for at least an hour.
